“The user is pressured to turn on notifications, and there is only the option for “not now” and “ok”. If the user does not want to turn on notifications, there is not option for that, and the app will continue to bother them about it.”

Instagram was catalogued by the UXP2 Lab over the way it prompts users to turn on notifications. According to the entry, the user is pressured to enable notifications and is offered only two choices, “Not now” and “OK”, with no option to decline outright. The entry adds that, because there is no way to say no, the app continues to bother the user about it.
