Stamps.com was reported to the Deceptive Design Tip Line over how its service was presented. According to the report, the service was made to sound as though regular US postage stamps could easily be delivered to the customer’s door, when in fact it was a subscription from a private company that required the customer to print the postage themselves. The reporter added that they struggled to work out how to cancel the subscription and were billed for several months before realising.

Stamps.com: Misleading subscription for postage delivery
“They made it sound as if you could easily have regular US postage stamps delivered to your door. It turns they’re a private company and it is a subscription. It required you to print the postage and I couldn’t figure out how to cancel the subscription for a while. I was billed for months before I realized it.”
